A friend of mine introduced me to this manga, and I got hooked by it's story!
For those who don't know, it is about a japanese sword fighter named Manji who cannot die. He has to kill 1000 evil men before he can die, and no matter how many body parts are chopped off, or what gets stabbed into where, he will always heal.
The story is about his travels with a girl named Rin who is out seeking the murderer of her parents, which she witnessed in its entirety 2 years prior. They meet up with people, and blah blah blah. I pretty much stated the book cover summaries, but that is only around 1/4 of what the manga is about. The other 3/4 is the interaction and semi plot twists/surprises.
What makes the manga great is that it has great storytelling and that it isn't your run-of-the-mill generic samurai/ronin comic. There are issues about life, death, and humanity which really makes you question the choices and decisions the characters are faced with. The manga won awards from both in Japan and here, in the United States. Geez, I feel like a commercial.
Good read, I'd recommend it to you guys since JoJo's isn't your run-of-the-mill comic either! The art is done rather well, and it isn't the typical anime style- it looks more like pencil sketches. Oh, yeah, there's plenty of blood.
Anyways, I've got a couple of volumes from Dark Horse, and my friend gave me a bunch more, scanned and translated, up to volume number 10. I was wondering if any of you knew where I might be able to find out if it is still ongoing or if it is already a completed series? I've searched around some sites and also on google and at bookstore sites and also at Dark Horse, but couldn't find out if the series is already completed, or what the latest volume/issue is. Any help would be appreciated!
Plus, if any of you know where to look/can share/can point me into the right direction for anything past volume 10, it'd be great.
